Therapy Style

"The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are"  Carl Jung

A lake and mountains with low clouds and a tree

I am an Integrative Transpersonal Counsellor having studied at ReVision Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling, London.

Fundamentally my practice style is a creative and flexible 'talking therapy' working with each individual in a way which is uniquely comfortable to them. I may offer therapeutic explorations including drawing (mark making), embodiment explorations, chair-work and nature connection therapy. These elements are offered and led by me in response what is of interest or useful to you

An integrative practice enables me to draw on a full pallet of theoretical

psychotherapeutic teachings including Jungian, Gestalt, Freudian and Person Centred approaches. Each of these therapeutic models offer rich concepts which can be a great support within a therapy process, they enable ways of viewing our work together which can be helpful and affirming.

Jung- teaches about the benefits of accepting our whole selves towards 'individuation'. And we may do this by listening to our deeper selves, our 'souls calling' including curiosity of dreams or images and human archetypal themes.

Gestalt- offers a relational approach,

an experience of an honest and trusting relationship towards health and healing, whilst connecting to a sense of our bodies wisdom.

Person Centred- approach focuses on the work being defined by the individual- the therapist offering deep attention and support, attentive listening and compassion.

Freud- offers concepts of the importance of our childhood history, attachments and experiences, connecting

to unconscious 'beliefs' which may be troubling us and working with them consciously towards health and wellbeing.

EMDR- Eye movement desensitisation reprocessing

Is a specialist trauma practice using

eye movement to enable a relaxed state in the body and support the processing of traumatic experiences 'stuck' in our brain, body and psyche. EMDR is one of the most evidenced trauma therapies of the modern day.

Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy- is an emergent mental health field globally. There have been trials being carried out in Kings College  London for an number of years and although not yet legal in the UK. Trials continue and some countries are now legalising clinic use of psychedelics. I am completing a training with Psyedu-A health professionals training

alongside GPs', Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Psychotherapists.

The power of counselling is borne through a safe, containing space where you can express what you truly feel with no need to 'fit in" with, or

accommodate anyone else's agenda.

Most people say that the most powerful aspect of their counselling process was having been heard, validated and witnessed without any pressure to be anything other than where they are in themselves -this moment. It is my job to connect to what is most meaningful and useful for you within a confidential and nourishing space.

I believe everyone can benefit from experiencing

the opportunity of this transformative space in their lifetime. Whether you are experiencing difficulties in your life or not, counselling is a place to look within and reflect on what you need, what you want to change and how you want to live your life.

Through these processes we may become who we truly are, welcome our 'whole selves' and meet our true potential.

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change" Carl Rogers

Transpersonal psychology is a humanistic and soulful approach. The transpersonal is defined as 'experiences in which the sense of identity or self extends beyond (trans) the individual or personal to encompass wider aspects of humankind, life, psyche or cosmos' towards improving mental health.

Transpersonal therapy takes a more holistic view;  which values wholeness and references

wisdom from the world's spiritual traditions and modern psychology, to enable perspective and find meaning within the bigger picture of life.

Eco psychotherapy (nature therapy) Is a practice of including nature in our therapeautic process. Humans have looked to nature for meaning and guidance as long as we have existed on the earth. And there is scientific evidence that our mental and physiological health is improved simply by 'being'  and walking within nature.
