EMDR is a highly evidenced trauma therapy which has had wide spread success supporting people with PTSD, CT-PTSD, OCD, anxiety and phobias.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence-based psychotherapy designed to alleviate distress from traumatic memories and PTSD. It helps the brain reprocess traumatic, "stuck" memories using bilateral stimulation- usually guided eye movements, sounds, or taps-making them less intense and off loaded into a part of the brain which stores 'memories' (the hippocampus) and therefore traumatic memories or negative thought patterns no longer perpetuate in the same distressing cycles.
Sessions are 1-1.5hrs long and include resourcing and grounding.
